Audio/Visual Ministry

Boy Scouts

Boy Scouting develops young men through effective citizenship, character and personal fitness, who make the world a better place. And through Cornerstone’s Boy Scout troop, young boys are taught essential leadership skills in a wholesome, Christian environment, by Christ-filled men. Couples Ministry

"Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh." ~ Genesis 2:24. The couples ministry aims to uplift couples bonded in Christ, for we believe that God is the head of every righteous relationship. Chairpersons:  Minister Tony & Lynn Foster

Dance Ministry: "Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs." ~ Psalm 150:4

The dance ministry seeks to uplift the Lord through creative movement and praise dancing. Chair: Min. Stacey Watkins

Deaconess Ministry

The Deaconess Ministry aims to uphold its mission of service. As women in Christ, the Deaconesses are committed to fulfilling duties in the church and supporting the pastor in his vision. Chair: Deaconess Polly Goins

Deacons Ministry

The Deacon Ministry has been and still is dedicated to serve. The Cornerstone deacons are continuing to fulfill their duties by visiting our sick and shut-in members. Chair: Deacon Leroy Gist

Decorating Ministry

The purpose is to keep God’s House in clean and holy order by decorating for church functions and events. Chair: Gayle Williams

Director of Education

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." ~ 2 Timothy 2:15

This ministry empowers members and the community at-large through literacy, American history, and other avenues of education, including Biblical education. Chair: Doris Tidwell

Evangelism Ministry

Commissioned and commanded by God to heal, deliver, and set the captives free. In the Name of Jesus Christ, the Evangelism Ministry is spreading the gospel outside the walls of the church.

The evangelistic team is made up of those who come from all aspects of life. We all have been called out of darkness, into God's Marvelous Light. Our purpose in ministry is to bring the gospel message; Jesus saves. Chair: Margaret Swindler

Finance/Budget Ministry

Tithing is the one thing we’re challenged to do in order to prove God is telling the Truth when He says He will bless us! The Finance & Budge ministry aims to orderly conduct the financial business of the church, ensuring that all blessings brought into the storehouse will be used for the upbuilding of God’s kingdom. Chair: Charles Goodwin

Girl Scouts

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. And through Cornerstone’s Girl Scout troop, young girls are taught essential leadership skills in a wholesome, Christian environment, by Christ-filled women. Chair: Sylvia Rookard

Golf Ministry

This ministry allows members to fellowship through golf outings. Chair: Bobby Brown.

Greeters Ministry

The Greeters Ministry serves our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by spreading the peace found in the Lord to all who enter the doors of God's house. The purpose of the Greeter's Ministry is to show the love of God by providing a friendly and inviting atmosphere for guest and members. This is accomplished by ensuring each guest of Cornerstone receive a warm, friendly, and personal welcome. Chair: Veronica Thacker 864.680.2272

Health Ministry

The purpose is to provide emergency assistance and professional health care for to individuals who are disabled or injured during worship services. The ministry seeks to promote a culture of healthy living by enhancing health knowledge of the membership, and expanding the awareness of the relationship between physical, mental, and spiritual living. Chair: Corlis Childs

Kitchen Committee:

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink… whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." ~ Matthew 25: 35, 40. The purpose is to aid the hungry so they might be physically fed and spiritually fed. The ministry also oversees food preparation for church functions. Chair : Guy Mallory

Library Ministry

The purpose is to effectively archive church information and serve as a resource guide of the church’s long-standing history. Chair: English Gibbs

Memorial Scholarship Ministry

Mens’ Ministry

The purpose is encourage males through fellowship with one another, that they may encourage one another to apply God’s word to his life. The ministry seeks to give men the tools to become a spiritual leader in his family and community. Chair: Bro. Charles McClurkin and Min. Michael McIntyre

 Minister of Music

"Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp…. Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord." ~ Psalm 150:3,6. The music ministry aims to uplift Christ through songs of praise and worship, making a joyful noise unto the Lord at all times. Chair: Minister Hoyt Bynum

Missionary Ministry

The purpose is to serve as ambassadors for Christ in area neighborhoods and abroad, telling all the good news of God’s love grace, and His plan for salvation. Chair: Nancy Dawkins

Mother Board Ministry

Chair: Sis. Genobia Smith

 New Members Ministry

The purpose is to aide new converts into becoming an inclusive part of the Church Family. New members are instructed on Biblical teachings and principals, with the goal that they not only attend church regularly, but that they are alive and active in church functions and events as they continue to grow spiritually. Chair: Willie Mae Thacker

 Nursery Ministry

The purpose is to care for babies and toddlers during church services, so that their parents may actively engage in worship service. Chair: Debra Byrd

Pastor’s Aid Ministry

The purpose is to assist the pastor in daily duties of the church, so that his vision in Christ may be fulfilled. Chair: Earline Thacker

 Praise Dance Ministry

To aid and assist all adults throughout their different seasons of singleness, that they may become empowered vessels for Christ. Chair: Keba Moore

Transportation Ministry

The purpose is to provide safe, reliable and courteous transportation services to the Cornerstone Church Family and visiting guests, so that all may be able to enjoy our services. Chair: Deacon Leroy Gist

Trustee Ministry

The mission as trustees is to maintain the physical properties of the church as well as oversee all legal affairs. It is our vision to enhance Cornerstone Baptist Church on a positive way, making sure all liabilities are met for the safety, comfort and well being of the congregation. We are considered to be Managers of the Church, growing spiritually together. Chair: Trustee Rodney Tidwell

Ushers Ministry

Serving as hosts of the church, the Ushers Ministry aims to ensure that members keep orderly conduct and reverence in God’s house during worship services, so that all may have an enjoyable experience in Christ. Chair: Julie Goins

Youth Ushers

Serving as hosts of the church, the Youth Ushers are children who are committed to ensure that members keep orderly conduct and reverence in God’s house during worship services. Chair: Dorothy Pearson and Divinity Mickel

Womens’ Ministry

"Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies." ~ Proverbs 31:10. The women’s ministry aims to give women the spiritual tools needed to assist in various capacities in the home and church. Chair: Minister Alaine Jackson

Youth Ministry

"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it" ~ Proverbs 21:6

We want our youth to take an active part in church. We believe in training them to be the best they can be and Jesus is the best example to follow. Our mission is to enable children and youth to know personally, love passionately, and follow purposefully our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Chair: Minister André Tarpley, youth director
